What's New at local2local
06.02.2005 Zip me closer!
What is this all about? We had a lot of request where users wanted to be able to search ads by zip codes. To get to this, click on the "Advanced Search" on the left-hand column right above the city list. Within the "Advanced Search" you can now search all ads by city and category via the zip code function. Or, you can always search by city. Just keep in mind that because the way local2local was designed, once you search via zip code and designate the mile radius, all ads will be return to the closes city tied to that zip code.
05.01.2005 Thanks for visting me at my Open House!
Have you ever visited a site that had properties for sale that you liked to see but didn't know if there was a open house unless you call the owner or real estate agent? Or better yet, you call but can't get a hold of anyone and decided to drive by that weekend and pray that someone might be there to give you a tour of the place. Your frustration has now been answered. When a homeowner or real estate agent place a listing on local2local, a listing can be placed under the "Open House" orange section. When a listing is created, there is an option where the ad can be placed under "Open House" which ask for the date and time for that property or if no open house is available, the ad still can be placed but no date and time will be associated with it. Now, isn't that a great feature! Why didn't someone think about it until now. :)
01.06.2005 You look marvelous with your "orange highlights!"
Why are some categories on the homepage in a different color you might ask? Those categories are special and we want to highlight them so that it immediate attracts the eyes of the users! We feel that those hightlighted categories are what make local2local special. When you click on "Service Providers Online," you can view service providers in your area. If you wanted to know if anyone is offering coupons in your area, isn't it nice to have one place to go to? We have it! Hey, why not? Need storage? Check out a list of great facilities in the WA and OR areas!
01.06.2005 "Pic" icon...more attention paid to your listing.
I know. You're probably asking "Why wasn't this in place to begin with from the get-go?" Hey, you need to get the site up first to attract users before pouring more resources to the site. It seems the site is what users are looking for because the acceptance has been positive. With that said, When a listing is placed and an image is uploaded, the icon will appear automatically.
01.06.2005 Make your listing HTML fab!
When you place your listing, you can now format it however you want. Jazz it up. Jazz it down. It's all up to you and your personal taste...and preferences. :) Live it up, make that listing stand out!
